Last Words: Spring 2014 Anime

I didn't pick up a lot of shows this season so it was a pretty loose anime season.

Mangaka-san to Assistant-san to The Animation (info)

Really random and weird anime, I am actually glad it's 13 minutes per episode. Preferred the manga but this isn't so bad either.

Kamigami no Asobi (info)

Generic and kinda went nowhere in what I consider real character progress. But the art and character design were really nice and the overall 'derived feel' of the anime made it quite enjoyable and fun.

Haikyuu! so far is a pretty cool anime so far and I enjoy the great animation in it!

It was an okay-season overall in spring.

Nissin U.F.O. (Yakisoba) !!

This brand is probably the most popular of the instant yakisoba noodles, maybe because it is Nissin. I've seen U.F.O. a lot in anime too.

French Toast Sandwich!

Pretty basic recipe. Kind of like a cake. Double-decker sandwich.

French Toast Sandwich (serves 1-2)
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
more than 1 tablespoon brown sugar
pinch of cinnamon
pinch of nutmeg
5 slices of bread (Wonderbread recommended)
3-5 strawberries, thinly sliced

1. Whisk egg, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg together.
2. Heat pan on medium and butter it. Soak a slice of bread in egg mixture until fully coated.
3. Put soaked bread on pan and monitor to make sure both sides will be golden brown. About 2 minutes each side.
4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until bread and mixture runs out.
5. Layer strawberries on a french toast, then pile on another french toast, layer with strawberries and finish with another french toast.
6. Other sandwich will not be double-decker.

I think it's a fun breakfast and a variety of other fruits work great as well for the filling.

Oklahoma Onion Burger!

I did this about a month ago and what I did was I found this. Really wanted to try it because ONIONS!!

Hey you Beansprout

Long time no see blog! I was a bit busy with things but here I am.

So, I just finished Nisekoi a couple weeks ago...

And I'll go talk about it!

In the end really, in Nisekoi, it's not about it being definitive or original masterpiece, it's about how fun the show was. Sure, every damn harem and stereotype trope have been played in it, but it was executed decently.

Romance was coy. There were moments for each girl, but nothing really reached to a canon couple. Which is fine.

What made this show fun was the comedy. I'm gonna say right now, the jokes are not entirely original and you should not watch with too high expectations (which I did when I started). The reaction faces, jokes and absurdity was the most redeeming point. This part made the whole unoriginality and cliches more palatable (or tolerable).

If I sum it up: "Despite its familiar and uninspired story, Nisekoi redeems as an effective comedy."

Haha. I guess... but yeah, overall it was quite good.

Anyway guys, recommended if you are 1.) an anime beginner, 2.) recoiling from a heavy series and 3.) looking for a fun and light-minded show.

I really don't mind a second season!
