Maruka Shokuhin Peyoung Sauce Yakisoba!

Ooooh. Always wanted to try this. And I did!

I've always wanted eat instant yakisoba from Japan in general. My first instant yakisoba from Japan was the Myojo Ippeichan Yakisoba (with the mustard mayonaise), which wasn't bad.

So Peyoung Yakisoba contains a vegetable packet (which is cabbage and meat pebbles), a sauce packet and a garnish packet (aonori and white pepper powder).

The instructions are in Japanese and there were no pictures but thanks to this video, which I have watched several times in the past couple years, I did just fine.

First, sprinkle the vegetable pack on the noodles. Boil some water and pour over the noodles until the line.

Cover with the lid and wait 3 minutes! It doesn't say on the video but I knew because there was a 3 in the instructions! :) Aren't you glad the Japanese use the same numbers?

After 3 minutes comes the funnest part! DRAINING FROM THE CONTAINER ITSELF!!!!1omg On the top-left corner are the draining holes which we open. I think they're cute with little stars and all.

So we just poke it open...

And it's ready for draining. Make sure you hold firmly and lid is closed nicely. I was actually skeptical that the holes were a little wee-big for the noodles. But it was fine.

Fortunately, the worst that could happen for instant yakisobas for me has not happened yet.

Wanna know what I'm talking about?

Your savior has failed you oh Christ. By your savior, I mean the draining holes. Anyway that's the only thing that can traumatize you away from functional instant noodle containers from Japan. Good thing it's preventable.

Unfortunately, there is no picture of the draining itself in action.

To-dum, everything is rehydrated! On the yakisoba sauce...

I'm pretty sure oil is mixed up in it. Has quite a thin consistency but coats the noodles well.

Looking good. Now the only thing remaining is the garnish seasonings!

So, the aonori section contained sesame seeds.

Finally, I can eat!

Taking a whiff with aonori and pepper powder on it kinda stung my nose.
It's not exceptional tasting but tastes like good yakisoba. Noodles were chewy and just right. It's not too sweet as well. Meat tasted weird. Overall, I thought the taste was balanced. A delicious awesome junky meal. I'd eat some right now...
