Hamburg Donburi!

Some Filipinos who frequent in Tokyo Tokyo should have heard of this rice bowl! It's basically a loco moco with nori on top. As there are no Tokyo Tokyo's where I am, heck I'm not even in the Philippines! I have made my own very convenient version to enjoy!

Hamburg Donburi (serves 1 person)

1 patty of your favourite hamburger (frozen or homemade, whatever you like!)
1 egg
1 green onion, chopped (garnish)
1/2 sushi nori, crumbled (you can also use the snack nori packs)
1 cup of cooked rice

Hamburg Donburi Gravy

1/3 - 1/2 can of mushroom soup
1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
3 tablespoons of water
1/4 onion, minced
3 shiitake mushrooms, minced
3 button mushrooms, minced
1 teaspoon olive oil

Don't worry about the mushrooms, use any that you like!

1. Heat a little oil in a pan for the egg. Add the egg and cook.
2. Set the egg aside and keep it warm. Cook your burger according to instructions in the pan.
3. While your burger is cooking, heat the olive oil in a small pot. Add the onion in and when it's aromatic, add the mushrooms.
4. Saute and add in the mushroom soup and soy sauce. Dilute with a little water so it isn't too salty. Simmer the gravy for 3-5 minutes.
5. Put the hot and cooked rice in a medium bowl and arrange the cooked burger and egg on it. Pour over gravy on your burger and garnish the rice bowl with nori and green onion. Enjoy!

Hope you like this recipe!
