So I had some leftover gravy from the hamburg donburi and I thought of making a little stroganoff. Unfortunately there wasn't any beef! I looked up if sausage was a good substitute and it was! An easy and quick meal! Not sure if it tastes like stroganoff but it is tasty.
Sausage Stroganoff (serves 1 person)
1/4 cup Hamburg Donburi Gravy
1-2 Johnsonville sausage (or any sausage you like!) sliced into less than 1 inch slices or 3-4 breakfast sausages
1/4 green bell pepper, chopped (optional)
less than 1/4 onion, chopped to bite size pieces
1 tablespoon sour cream
1 tablespoon water
5 small mushrooms, chopped
1 tsp oil
1. Heat oil in medium-low heat in a small pan and saute the onion and bell pepper.
2. Add the sausage, if using breakfast sausage crumble it down to small pieces. Then saute in the mushrooms.
3. When it's aromatic and the sausage is cooked add the Hamburg Donburi Gravy and mix well. Add in the water and sour cream and mix it well.
4. Simmer for 3-5 minutes and it's done! Serve with rice, noodles or bread and enjoy!
